I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! Ours was nice... quiet. We went to my mom's, ate, then came home. Clint was on vacation all week, so we were able to get a few things done around the house.

The kids have been keeping me super busy. So much to do.... never enough time or energy! Every night I just collapse into bed since I am SO tired. I always lay with Valerie until she is asleep, and lately I've fallen asleep with her, sometimes even before her! Val has decide naps are a thing of the past. I don't remember the last time she took a nap. I don't know where she gets all her energy from, but I sure wish I had a fraction of it. Oh, and Val is 100% potty trained! It's SO nice not having to deal with diapers!!! Veronica is still Fussy Veronica. And boy does she have a TEMPER! Lately she has been crying so much and gets mad about every little thing. Ugh.... it stresses me out so much when she's having a bad day. Roni is so close to crawling. She inches around on her belly, but hasn't figured out to get up on her knees yet.

And I'm so sad that Valerie is about to be THREE years old. Three!! Not a baby.... not a toddler.. but now a little girl. *sigh* She is SO excited about her party. She's telling people all the time "my birthday coming up!" At night she talks about who is coming to her party (Lana, mostly!)

And think.... in just a little over 3 months.... Veronica will be ONE! *dies*

Christmas already!

My parents came to town Friday, and Valerie insisted she go home with them. She did of course and ended up staying Friday night and Saturday night there. Clint and I stayed SUPER busy all weekend so we'd have a few surprises for her when she got home. We put up just about ALL of the Christmas stuff - inside and out!!!!

Clint also put up more lights on the house than we've ever had. Plus, we have the lighted candy canes, a blow up santa, and two lighted reindeer. And the projector spotlight shining on the garage.
AND the biggest surprise of all.... Clint put together the SWINGSET!! Val was so excited. She's running around saying "I love my toy! I love my swingset!" Hugging it and even blowing kisses! "I love my Christmas tree!" And for some reason, she's saying, "It's my first Christmas!!"

And of course, I tried to get a few of Roni by the tree too. She wasn't very cooperative and would NOT smile for anything!!

bzzzz bzzzz bzzzz

I happen to notice the mail lady delivering our mail this morning, so Val and I walked outside to pick it up. Usually I take our walkway, but for some reason today I decided to cut across the grass. Well, I took about 3 steps and SON OF A BITCH I stepped on a bee!!! It's November! And there were honeybees all over my yard. I haven't been stung by a bee in ages. I had forgotten how much it hurt. I had to pluck the bee to detach him from his stinger then hop to the porch so I could sit and scrape out the stinger. OH it hurt. Burned. Poor Valerie was crying and yelling "stop it momma! stop it!" as she ran inside and shut the door! I ignored my foot and calmed her down so we could go get the mail as normal. But it HURT. Before long, my entire foot was throbbing and bright red. I put some baking soda and an ice pack on it as soon as I could, but my foot is so swollen. I was stung on my second toe, and my foot is red and swollen all the way to my ankle! It doesn't even hurt where I got stung; it's the rest of my foot that aches. I spent all day hobbling around tending to the kids as best as I could. I took some Benadryl tonight, so hopefully that will help. It'd be nice if I could at least put my shoe on tomorrow!!

bummer.

So, Halliburton has CANCELLED their big Christmas party at the zoo. I'm so bummed. We were really looking forward to it.

Yeah... they sent out invitations, planned, booked everything.... and today an email was sent out that they aren't making enough money, so the party has been cancelled. Talk about POOR planning. You would think somebody would have thought this through!

The party was on the day I originally wanted to have Valerie's b.d. party (Dec. 15.) So, I started planning her b.d. around it. I don't think I will change the date now though. December 8th is probably better and will keep it separate from Christmas. Several people have already told me they can come that day! We'll do something special on her actual birthday anyways, so it doesn't really matter when her party is.

I just sent a request to rent a crayon bounce house for the day. Valerie picked it out all by herself. Invitations will be going out as soon as I have them in hand! I gotta get busy.... it's only a month away.

shhhhh!

My mom bought this for Valerie yesterday:

I can't wait to put it up!!! We even have a baby swing for Veronica, so she can enjoy it too. I want it up before Val's birthday party (December 8th), so we'll probably surprise her with it around Thanksgiving.
