Days of Summer Update!

Summer is in full swing here in Bayou Blue, Louisiana!  Hot temperatures and unusually little rain.  Not that I want it to rain all the time, but a little here and there to keep the landscaping alive would be great!  Dark clouds roll in and I hear thunder, but the ran rarely seems to find us here.  At least sunny days make for perfect pool weather!

Valerie and Veronica had their dance recital a few weeks ago.  Both girls did fabulous!!  I love, love our simple, little dance school.  No big chaos, no fighting over tickets or seats, no drama.  Words can't describe how proud and happy it makes me to see my girls on stage showing how far they have come.  Neither one of them seems to have much stage fright, especially Valerie who complained about not having enough stage time!

Both girls are going to a local summer camp.  It's from 8am-3pm four days a week and it's great to keep them busy.  Otherwise they would be sitting at home with the "I'm bored" syndrome.  We all signed up for reading programs at two libraries, although I am doubtful that they will complete it.  The electronics draw them in after camp and Minecraft has taken over our household.  The stacks of library books, forgotten.  YouTube videos about Minecraft win every time.

Last week we took a trip to our favorite beach vacation spot in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  The beaches there are just beautiful, and there's lots of other things to do.  We had such a great time!!  We stayed right on the beach, and every night Clint and I sat on our balcony under the stars listening to the waves.  I was worried about the heat, but with the nice breeze and cool waves, it was perfect beach weather.  We hit a water park, played mini golf, and did a good bit of shopping too.  It was a great trip!

As for me, I am doing better than I was.  Either I have gotten used to this new normal, or I am a little better.  I am unsure.  I still feel really dizzy and spacey from time to time. Some days it isn't too bad and I can ignore it, but I still have moments where it hits me hard.  If that part would go away, I would be ecstatic.  I don't think I will ever get away from being tired.  I'm still going to the gym on the days when I can.  I've been trying to eat better and cut out bad carbs.  I'm down about 8 lbs. and working on more!!

My high school class had a 25th reunion celebration last weekend that was an 80s dress up theme.  I did not have any interest in going, but for kicks I put on my 1990 mint green prom dress.  Ha!   Yes, two kids and 25 years later it still fits (loosely I might add,) and yes it is zipped up all the way in the back!!
