So yesterday was really sweet. We were up early with Val of course. Clint ran to the store to get "supplies" for the surprise. I kind of knew what it was. Hee. I got dressed and left the house at 10:20 and didn't come home until almost 5:00!!!! NICE! The time to myself was probably the best part of the day!!! I feel bad for saying that because it was our anniversary, so part of me thinks we should have spent more of it together.. but oh well. I went to the gym and did 30 minutes of cardio. Then I did a little shopping here and there. I picked up a few things for Val, a new set of sheets, and some PJs for me. I went to the mall and got a mani and a pedi. Ahhhhh so nice and relaxing!! It was so weird running around with out Val. No stroller, no diaper bag... I felt empty handed. At 4:30 I decided it was close enough to 5:00 to come home. I was almost home when Clint called and said he was finished.

When I got back, Clint had the dining room table cleared off. (we NEVER eat in there!!) And had a dozen red roses and some heart shaped tea lights waiting for me. He had me sit at the table while he served dinner. His original plan was to have a friend in cullinary school cook for us while he was going to clean house, but the guy had a funeral to attend, so Clint did the cooking. The house is still a mess. LOL! He had also asked someone to watch Val while we ate, but she wasn't able to. Clint made a ceasar salad, bread, crab cakes, and spinach stuffed chicken. (not sure why he chose that, because I don't care for spinach and he knows it. ick.) I ate around the spinach and it was still good though. We had fruit salad and of course my cake for dessert. I know it was a lot of work. Anyone with kids knows it's not easy to cook anything fancy while taking care of a baby, a sick baby at that... Clint did great! It was wonderful to have someone else do the cooking for a change. I SO appreciated having an entire day to myself too!!

(I guess I got my answer... "When do I get a day off? -- February 14!!! LOL!)

So is Clint a good cook? That is strange that if he knows you don't like spinach to make something with it. So is Val feeling better yet? That Zithromycin is usually a miracle drug. Actually, the doctor just gave me some of that today, so I hope sometime tomorrow to start feeling human again. The cough syrup with codeine should do a pretty good job, also.

Oops, forgot to sign my name, the time before I double posted! Kathryn

  3. Oh yes, Clint is an EXCELLENT cook. I wish he'd cook for us more often, but with him working so much he doesn't have time.

Val is doing much better. I feel worse than I did yesterday though!!
