High School

Last night was a trip down memory lane. In high school, I was in the choir. My choir teacher, Mrs. Hendrix, retired years ago and now one of her former students is the high school choir director. The current director is planning a surprise tribute to Mrs. Hendrix, and she invited as many of the choir alumni as she could to come back and sing at the spring concert. Mrs. Hendrix has agreed to direct one song. It's going to be a big SURPRISE that many of Mrs. Hendrix's former students are going to be there.... Anyway, last night was the first rehearsal. Just being in the choir room brought back so many wonderful memories. And OMG two of my dearest high school friends were there!!!!! I hadn't seen either of them in probably 15 years!!! We were always so silly on choir trips. Such fun, crazy times. It was so good to see both of them again.

It's kind of bittersweet. *sigh* How I miss the old days...

Did you ever see the movie, "Mr. Hollands Opus"? He was a high school band director and at the end they had a tribute to him, where many of his former students came back. The details are a little fuzzy, since I saw it awhile back. It's a great movie; I bet they would have it at Netflix. Also my 20 yr. high school reunion is this year in September or October. I sure hope it isn't on the 23rd of September, since my cousin's wedding is that day. Spring has finally sprung; it's been in the 60s yesterday and today.
