Wilton Course 1

Cake class was pretty neat! Interesting stuff. I am going to like... no love it!! We didn't do much last night except go over what we are going to learn. The instructor took us to the cake supply section so we could scope out the supplies we need to buy. I haven't purchased mine yet. My mom has a lot of stuff, so I want to see if she has anything I need before I buy. Next week we have to bring a cake and icing to start decorating. Can't wait... this is gonna be FUN!

In other news, yesterday the moms in the playgroup asked me if I would be interested in being on the Executive Board as Secretary!! I wasn't expecting that, but I'm going to do it. It doesn't seem very hard at all, and it will be good to be involved in something. I'm quite flattered that they asked, as they said "you seem dependable and we like you!"

This is my job description: The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the regular and Executive Board meetings; shall have charge of all records; shall notify the Executive Board and Members of meetings; shall take care of all correspondence pertaining to the business of the Club.

  1. Wow! The playgroup has an Exutive Board?? Well, congratulations! You'll have to take a picture of your creations and post them for us to see your talent. Especially for those of us who can't even make a cake that is level all over; much less be able to decorate it the way you do!

  2. Baking a flat cake is so easy!! You can purchase Wilton's Baking Strips with instructions. OR you can cut a towel in strips just as wide as your pan, soak them in water, wrap them around the pan and secure with a safety pin. The wet towel keeps the edges of the cake cooler so they bake slower and the center of the cake doesn't pop up!! You get a flat cake!
