See ya!

Just wanted to let everyone know we're leaving on a mini-vacation in the morning. Halliburton is having a family fun day in Houston Saturday, so we're going to make a long weekend out of it. We're planning to visit the zoo... do some shopping... and whatever else...

Valerie is MUCH better, thankfully. She normally tolerates being sick easily, so I knew something was up when she cried for so long. She's just about back to her normal active self. Val woke up this morning calling "mommy! daddy! ronica!" Awww...

Almost a week late, but last Saturday was Veronica's baptism. We had a small reception here afterwards. All went well, I think! Except for Valerie not being quiet in church. She walked with my mom and dad a few minutes after us, and I hear just as loud as can be... 'Where Momma Daddy go?" Then when she saw us... "There you are!!" LOL!! We were sitting in the very first pew, and Val exclaims "ooooh candles!!!" when she saw the alter all lit up. My dad ended up taking her outside to play since there was no way she'd sit still!

Had my 6 wk check up... all is well. I'm dying to get back to the gym... I'll be re-joining in the next couple weeks. I'm so disgusted with all this extra weight!!

Clint told me yesterday he realized he wasn't depressed about being mad at me for not wanting to move... but it was because he didn't know what to do besides that. For some reason, he's suddenly over it. But it still makes me feel sad that he has been "mad" at me all of this time... Plus, it's hard to forget how bad he made me feel when I was already having such a difficult time...

Valerie woke up sick. Or actually started acting sick last night. She was up crying allll night. Double ear infection, severe enough to warrent two shots. Fever, congestion... and she vomited twice (on me) while at the doctor. *sigh* We visited friends yesterday and she was perfectly fine.

Reflux battles

Veronica is still battling reflux. Last week the dr. put her on Axid and said to keep up the Mylanta. If anything, she is screaming MORE now. And eating less. *sigh* She was taking 2-4 oz every couple of hours. She's down to only one ounce at a time. And she cries and cries afterwards and fights the bottle. She will not sleep at all!! She wakes up every few minutes crying. So, after researching even more online, yesterday I decided to stop all the meds and switch formula -- again. I'm trying the soy Good Start now, and we'll see what happens. Part of me thinks it's more gas than reflux, but she has many reflux symptoms. The insurance mix up should be fixed by the end of the week, so if there's still no change I'm gonna call the dr. to try a different medicine. There's got to be something we can do. It's not normal for her to be in such pain and to eat so little.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter.

It was so cold here it felt more like Christmas!! Valerie was TOO funny. All day Saturday we kept telling her the Easter Bunny was coming that night. We'd ask her later who was coming...? and she'd barely whisper "Easter bunny!" She went to sleep just fine, but woke up about 3am chanting "Easter bunny Easter bunny Easter bunny!!" LOL!! She was up bright and early at 7:30ish. She stopped just short of walking into the living room when she saw what the Easter bunny had brought her. Val said... "bicycle? NOPE!" then ran and hid in the bathroom! LOL!!! No idea what that was about, but she stood in the bathroom whispering "bicycle" over and over until I coaxed her out. She pointed and giggled a bit before finally going to inspect her goodies. Who knew the Easter bunny delivered Red Radio Flyer tricycles?!? After she warmed up to it (and ate some of her candy!) it was all about the trike. "Ride bicycle!" is all we are hearing. It's a little bit big for her, and she hasn't quite mastered pedaling yet... but she'll get it.
Veronica is still battling the reflux. *sigh* At times I think the meds are helping and she's much better, then at times she seems worse than ever. This Saturday is her baptism, so I'll be getting ready for that all this week. Still not sure what we are making to eat at the reception afterwards....
At some point I have to go buy something to wear, as nothing in my closet fits. I have one dress that "sort of " fits that will do if I can't find anything else. I wanted to go shopping on Good Friday, but it didn't happen. I asked Clint early in the week if he was off Friday, and he said he didn't know. He checked... and said they weren't getting any days off for Easter. Well, okay... I figured he's going to the office Friday, so no shopping trip. Thursday night he "announces" he's staying home Friday and going to lunch with this guy. How nice of him to let me know he planned to take the day off. And how nice it must be to come and go as you please. If I would like to go anywhere, I have to ASK him if it's ok... if he'll be around to watch the kids. But that doesn't apply to him... he can come and go as he pleases because it's assumed I have no life and I'll always be home. Well, that's one thing about to change for sure....

One Month Birthday!

Had Veronica's one month well baby visit today... she weighs 9 lbs 4 oz!! yay! and is 20 1/4" long. She looks great and is doing okay. I talked to the doctor about the reflux symptoms. She struggles with her feedings still and something is causing her to hurt. So, we have an Rx for Axid to add in with the mix of Mylanta. Oh, and she STILL has a bit of thrush. I'm partly to blame for that since I've been slacking on giving her the Nystatin. So, it's back on that too... Roni just cries and fusses so much when I give her meds though. Sometimes she vomits after taking them. I know she needs them, but I hate giving it to her. And now we're up to THREE different meds, all of them are 3-4 times a day.

Of course, nothing is simple. For some reason, Veronica is NOT on our prescription plan. Today was the 30-day deadline to add her too, so who knows what kind of problems that will end up giving us. I had to pay $97.00 for her medicine. CVS said once we get it straight I can get reimbursed. Clint is supposed to be checking... we'll see.

Not sure how well this shows up in a pic... but check out her hair... if that's not RED I don't know what is!! Even her eyebrows and lashes are light light with a hint of red. Hmmm!

one month!

Hard to believe Veronica will be a month old tomorrow...
