What A Day!!

Wednesday I did my usual running around. Brought Val to school, went to the doctor, then took Veronica a playdate. On the way home I felt unusually hot. I kept checking the a/c and couldn't decide if it felt cool or if it was just me. When I picked up Valerie from school there was no doubt the a/c was out. I do not do well in the heat!! Clint picked up some freon to see if that was the problem, but Thursday morning it was still blowing hot air. So Friday, off to the shop the CRV went.

First ~ they say the condenser is out. Cost to repair -- $967.00. YIKES!! But what other choice do we have???? I simply can NOT be with out air conditioning and not with the upcoming Disney trip. Driving 12 hours with no a/c would be torture.

Then ~ they call Clint and say that after taking out the damaged condenser, they find the radiator is leaking. WTF?? They think that perhaps a rock or some object passed through and dented the condenser and radiator. Great! All I am thinking is really do we need to dish out $2000 on car repairs right now?? Not that we have a choice.

THEN, upon further inspection it was discovered the front grill was loose. And and there is a dent in the license plate on the front bumper. Somebody freakin' HIT the CRV. I have no idea when, where, or how long ago. Most likely it was parking lot damage. Somebody backed into us, dented in the condenser pushing it into the radiator. And they left. Unbelievable.

I guess the "good" news is that we did notify our insurance and they set us up with a rental car until the repairs are made. Tuesday an adjuster is going look at the damages and talk to the mechanic that determined it was a "bump and run" situation. So aside from our $1000 deductible we shouldn't have to foot the whole bill.

And I won't even go into all the stress that unfolded with Clint *almost* traveling 12 hours to Texas indefinitely and leaving us wondering IF he would be allowed to take his vacation. Thankfully that is no longer an issue. I hope.

I am so ready for some time away!!!

  1. Hope you had a great time in Texas.

You have such a beautiful blog template. Did you design it yoursel?

  2. Oh no, we didn't go to Texas! There was talk of Clint going for work and being stuck there indefinitely. Thankfully that didn't happen.

    I got my template from
