Ready, set, shop!

For the first time in six years I "did" Black Friday. My Mom and I used to shop it every year. The last time was before I had kids when we lived in Thibodaux. For years before I moved out, we'd go to Wal-Mart and head to Lafayette or some other out of town mall. I don't remember it being as crazy as it is now though. Maybe it's because it was the Morgan City Wal-Mart! Here people go nuts and camp out for days to be first in line. Sorry, but I don't need a new TV that bad!

I arrived at Target about 3am and the line was ridiculously long. By the time the doors opened, the line was blocks long - probably over a thousand people! It wasn't that bad once we got in the store though... I found the things I wanted (completely free thanks to $100 in gift cards I won!) and was out of there in 45 minutes. I made a quick stop at Wal-Mart and it was just too crazy, so I left. JC Penny's was super crowded. I think that was the most people I have ever seen in there! And at 5am! The lines to check out were incredibly slow, and waiting in line for 40 minutes was the worst part of my morning. But, I did get the things I wanted.

So, over all it wasn't bad. It is exciting and sort of an adventure. I guess it was worth it since I knocked out quite a few gifts at excellent prices. I sure was tired yesterday though.
