Momma Momma Momma!!

Momma Momma Momma!! Momma Momma Momma!! Momma Momma Momma!!

I told the girls to QUIT with the constant "Momma Momma Momma!!" It's driving me bonkers and that they needed to give it a rest.

So then I hear from Veronica:

Miss Melanie! Miss Melanie! Miss Melanie!

At least she listened, right?

Happy Birthday Party Day!

Yesterday we celebrated Veronica's fourth birthday with a party at Chick-Fil-A! We decided to have it a few weeks early before Mardi Gras kicks in because you would be surprised at how many people will choose parades over everything else. She celebrated with five of her sweet friends and had a great time!! She played with her friends in the play area, had ice cream and cake along with a visit from the Chick-Fil-A cow. From Mommy's point of view, it was a quick, easy, and super cheap party (under $29!!!!) We only wish Daddy would have been there. My little girl enjoyed her party and gifts! I love you, Veronica Leigh!

Our repeat no shows were once again no where to be found in spite of enthusiastically RSVPing yes. I am so glad I did not tell the kids they were invited. If they would have come, it would have been a nice surprise for Veronica. At least I avoided disappointment. If she had time to update her facebook status, there's no reason why she couldn't have called, emailed, texted, or FBd me to say their plans had changed. This isn't the first, second, or third time this happened either. I decided I am D-O-N-E. Why bother with someone who has so little regard for us? Don't make time for those who have no time for you!!

Anyway, we had a great time with our awesome friends and honestly they weren't even missed!

Remember all the flowers? This is what they were for ~ Veronica's Tinkerbell cake!

My Valentine

Okay, even at my age it sucks being alone on Valentine's Day/Anniversary!! But it's always nice to be remembered. ♥

And goodness, my kids got SO MUCH CANDY at school. Really? for Valentine's Day?! I remember giving cards and only cards in school. Every so often, one of the more popular kids would have a sucker taped to their card but that's it. Both girls came home with gobs of candy.

It's true... when I first met Clint, I didn't "like" him like him. He was .... okay. The funny thing was he did a lot of things I would have normally deemed "wrong." Like at the end of one of our very first dates, he told me he had something for me. First thought was wow, he saw something at the store or found something that reminded him of me.... sweet. Then he dug around and handed me a computer print out picture. Of himself. Really. If it had been anyone else, that would have driven me batty.

I never doubted him. I never doubted he would call or follow through with plans we made. Not once did I ever wonder if he meant what he said. I didn't feel the need to act a certain way or like certain things. There was no dating angst. It was easy.

We've had our ups and downs, good times and bad. Here we are eight years later. A home and now a beautiful family of four.

So this is our Happily Ever After that began on 2-14.03. Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!! And Happy 8th Anniversary to us!

This threat remains serious.

Warden Message, 2/11/2011 - Security Alert Reminder

Security Alert Reminder

The State Department, based on terrorist threat information, reiterates its January 29, 2011 alert to U.S. citizens of the potential for terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan, including against American interests.

This threat remains serious.

U.S. citizens in Azerbaijan should remain vigilant, particularly in public places associated with the Western community. In addition, U.S. citizens should remain aware of their surroundings, be vigilant about their personal security, maintain an unpredictable daily schedule, and the vary the routes used to travel to and from their places of work and residence

If you read this about a place you were scheduled to travel for business too, wouldn't you be the slightest bit concerned? Shouldn't your employer be concerned also? Maybe it's nothing... but what if it isn't? Would you want to be there to find out?? Halliburton Security is blowing this off. No other details seem to be available, but I would think it is out there for a reason. Right?

Impatiently awaiting Clint's safe return two weeks from now...

Up next...

This is what I did all morning... piped royal icing flower after flower after flower! It wasn't bad at all since they are all easy drop flowers. It took longer to mix and color the icing. What is this for you ask? That you will have to wait and see!!

I was getting a bit stir crazy being stuck at home with a sick little girl all last week. Thankfully, she is better. Both girls have the forever runny nose/cough but it isn't bothering them so we'll wait that out. Of course now Mommy is sick. Sore throat and stuffy head feeling. It's not really bad, just enough to be annoying and slow me down.

Clint's latest adventure is on hold - for now. He was scheduled to head to Azerbaijan Thursday, but his visa won't be ready in time. We're both a little uneasy about the trip because there is talk of a terrorist threat over there. With all going on in the world right now you would think that this would be taken into serious consideration. It looks like he is going anyway though.

It is dreary and raining, so I did a little sewing today. I decided to make the girls matching t-shirt dresses for Disney! 31 days to go! The dress was easier than I thought. I can't sew much and wasn't sure about what I was doing, but this was fairly easy. I bought $4 shirts at Wal-Mart and used some fabric my Mom had. I think she'd be proud that I did this on my own. Just don't look at it too closely and you won't notice my mistakes!
