Old into New

I've been wanting a new wreath for my front door for a while now.  Most of the ones I have seen are crazy expensive or just too flashy for my simple door.  Since I inherited a few wreaths from my Mom and I had a few laying around, I decided to take them apart and start new!  We have a surplus of ornaments and I picked up a few floral pieces from the Dollar Tree.

I received this wreath about twelve years ago (?) at an office Christmas party when I was still part of the working world.  It's been sitting in the attic since we moved here almost nine years ago.  Time to put it to use!

I really have no idea what I am doing.... no real plan.  Let's just pull everything off and start sticking things in empty places.  A little hot glue and some wire will do the trick.  There.  That looks OK.

Not too shabby!

I didn't care for the bow, so I switched it for one that had once again stored away for years with the Christmas items.

So far, it has surprisingly held up fairly well.  Two ornaments have fallen off when the neighborhood kids slammed the door shut.  I'm glad they shut the door this time, but there's no reason to slam it that hard!!  It's nothing that a little more hot glue won't fix, if I ever get around to it.
