The best laid plans of Moms and Kids often go awry

I had every intention of going back to the gym this morning.  Not really 'back' because I go just about every day.  I missed Friday due to a school activity and party prep.  With a weekend filled with junk - hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and of course cake, I was going to undo some of it at the gym this morning.  All of that changed when at 5am a wee little hand tapped me on the arm and a wee little voice said, "Mommy, I think I have to throw up."  And throw up she did.

So, today is a relatively quiet day at home.  I'm catching up on laundry and cleaning up the last of the party clutter.  I did the last bit of shopping on Amazon and wrapped a few gifts.  I don't know why I dislike wrapping gifts so much.  Maybe it's because I see no point in carefully wrapping something that will be torn to bits in ten seconds.  Although not as fun, gift bags were definitely created for people like me.  I do wrap the girls' presents no matter what because it is more fun to unwrap boxes, and we already have a HUGE pile under the tree all for them.  Two are toys, the rest are odd and end dollar store stuff.  They will get a gift from their Nanny, and that is about it.  So, I usually make sure they get a lot of little things, useful things, so that they have plenty to open.  (The year I gave them bed sheets and towels actually went surprisingly well!)  It's up to Santa to deliver the really good stuff.

Hopefully with this day of rest my little one will be on the mend by tomorrow.  I'm not making any plans, other than a possible visit to the doctor, just in case.
