Oh, how I've failed thee

My dear Holidailies, I have failed thee.  I haven't been posting or reading or commenting.  Not entirely fault of my own though.  This whole week has been nothing but chaos.

Monday - Valerie had been complaining of a sore throat for a few days.  If you know Val, she never complains about feeling sick.  If she does, it's pretty bad.  Monday morning her throat looked awful so I had to force her into going to the doctor.  She wanted to go to school.  Thankfully, the strep test was negative.  She had just a bad case of tonsillitis, swollen glands, and fluid in her ears.

Tuesday -  Clint and I had a movie date planned.  It was the only day on his vacation that we could actually do grown up stuff.  We saw "Mockingjay Part 2."  We had to rush home after the movie, because Valerie had art club after school but then she may not have art club after school, so we hurried home just in case.  It's a good thing we did because as we were pulling up into the driveway, the bus turned into our subdivision and Val got off at her usual time.  No art club.  That evening was Valerie's dancing class's party.  The first hour was tap and ballet, the second forty-five minutes was hip-hop.  We got a little recital info, saw their costumes, and watched the dances they have learned so far.

Wednesday -  I had a haircut appointment, and Clint tagged along for the ride.  Afterwards, I had arranged to meet a couple who are interested in our rent house.  We hung out at the house until they arrived and chatted with them a bit.  They seem okay, so maybe we have found tenants.  Clint and I grabbed a nice lunch, and headed back home to get the girls off their buses.  Once again, it was a mad rush to finish homework and get dressed.  Valerie had her very first band concert that evening.  They were GREAT!  To go from knowing nothing about music or playing an instrument to sounding as good as they did was impressive.

Thursday - I had the morning 'off' and I was glad I did.  I woke up at 4:30 to the feeling of a 22 lb cat trying to get comfy on my head.  I never went back to sleep - ugh.  I managed to nap a bit after we got the girls off to school.  Valerie had an orthodontist appointment in the afternoon, so I had to check her out of school.  I had purchased tickets to a Disney live show many months ago, and it happened to be the same day.  I had to check Veronica out of school also, because there was no way we'd ever make the show otherwise.  The orthodontist appointment was the quickest yet!  Val got red and green bands on her brackets for the holiday.  The Disney show was great!  Both girls told me thank you for bringing them to it.  That evening, Veronica had her dancing Christmas party, so we were there until after 8pm again.

Friday - Valerie had "Doughnuts with Dad" at school.  Clint brought her to school and had breakfast with her.  Veronica had gotten picked for "Student of the Month", so we surprised her at school for the ceremony at 9:00.  I'm so proud of my sweet girl!  THEN this evening, Valerie had a birthday party to attend for one of her friends.  We ended up staying at the party for over two hours.

I'm tired.
