Doubtful Fudge

It's not Christmas with out homemade goodies.  I have made many batches of fudge over the years.   They all have involved heating the ingredients on the stove to soft ball stage, or around 245 degrees.  Stirring and stirring.  If the weather was too wet/humid, no doubt the fudge would fail.  Oh well, we'd just grab a spoon and go.... 

I've seen this microwave fudge recipe floating around the Facebook groups.  It seemed too easy and I was highly doubtful that it would actually turn out fudge like.

1/2 stick of butter
3 cups chocolate chips
1 can condensed milk

Melt the butter in the microwave.  Add the chocolate chips and condensed milk.  Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.  (I added a bit of vanilla and used my hand mixer at the end to blend it.)  Pour in a buttered pan or foil lined pan.  Put in the fridge until set.

The verdict:  It IS fudge.  It IS good!  I wouldn't say it's as good as the old fashioned fantasy marshmallow creme fudge, but it is smooth, creamy, and chocolate.  Valerie said it is too chocolatey.  Veronica said "can I have another piece?"  I think it's a win.
