Amazon Junkie

Who did their Black Friday shopping online?  ME!  I am past the days of going stand in line to fight the crowds.  Click, add to cart, check out.  Laptop, iPad, Fitbit, and Dyson acquired from my comfy couch.  Back in the day before the great Internet, I would have never missed the shopping craziness.  My Mom and I hit the road and would spend the day shopping - admittedly, mostly for ourselves.  Of course besides mail order catalogs, it was the only way to shop.

Now a days, everything can be bought online.  I can't be the only one addicted to Amazon Prime, can I?  I often wonder if UPS gets tired of coming here as get packages almost daily.  We are so spoiled for the quick turn around.  If I think of something we need, rather than run all over town searching, I can just make a few clicks and it shows up in two days.  Sometimes one.  Price wise, most things are about the same as Walmart's or even less.  I have several staples on auto-ship:  cat food, cat litter, Cascade, garbage bags, etc.

Amazon to the rescue when shopping for the kids, too.  Veronica needed a dress for All-State Honor Choir.  With free returns, online shopping is just so easy.  I ordered 4-5 dresses.  She tried them on, picked her favorite, and I just returned the others.  Three days before Homecoming, Val decided the strapless bra she had wouldn't do.  I ordered 5-6 various sizes and styles.  She picked her favorite and the rest were sent back.  In both cases, there was no running around the mall spending hours in a fitting room.  All it took of my time was a drop off at the UPS store.

Then there are the discount codes.  On Facebook, there are so many groups that post Amazon deals all day long.  Freebies even!  I did a bunch of my Christmas shopping using them.  The only bad thing is you end up buying things you don't really need.  Hahaha!  It's just too good of a deal to pass up with a 70% off code comes along.  I'll never run out of phone chargers, at least.

Are you a savy online shopper?

  1. I rarely order anything from Amazon, except at Christmas time. But my daughter-in-law, who now lives here, gets many packages almost daily. I don't know how they can afford it!

  2. Love Amazon and Prime! I even signed up for their credit card and got $70 credit to use it for purchases. I use it to buy my stuff and then pay it off monthly. It is so convenient and I plan to use it a lot when I sit down and put my Christmas list together. Its fun to drive around the neighborhoods and see all the Prime vehicles as well as other vans delivering for them. Honestly, if I liked to drive, it wouldn't be a bad job unless an item was super heavy. It is so easy to get anything delivered these days. As we like to drink wine, I was lazy to go to Total Wines to get some bottles before Thanksgiving so I had them delivered (they use DoorDash I think). Small delivery fee but worth it not being stuck in traffic.

  3. Amazondotcom is my favorite site to shop, even more on Black Friday and Cyber Monday :)

  4. I love Amazon but sadly, the shipping from US usually costs a bomb! Once, I bought a necklace and the shipping itself cost more than the necklace!

These days, I shop at Aliexpress. Have you tried them? They are really cheap!

  5. Had to comment again, LOL. After I left the above comment, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw an ad for an instant pot that was 74% off with Cyber Monday shopping through Amazon. As I've been wanting an instant pot for a bit I decided to take advantage of this deal plus when I checked out I decided to use by almost $25 I had in points from using my Amazon credit card, LOL, so I ended up getting the instant pot almost $100 off list price! Win win!

    1. WOW that is an amazing deal on an instant pot!! I found one marked down to $40 a while back and thought that was pretty good. Those kinds of deals are hard for me to pass up too.

  6. I use Amazon for specific items; like if I know EXACTLY what I want. But I do love to frequent some of the mom & pop stores in my town; they have unique items that make great gifts for those who are hard to shop for.
