Flashback Friday!

This Flashback Friday is brought to you by Mother's Day!

I've shared this pic many times before.  This is the last picture I took with my Mom.  It was taken at my parent's home on Mother's Day 2008 and we were going out to dinner.  Mom wasn't feeling well that day and hadn't been for quite some time.

And this is obviously a wedding photo.  February 14, 2003.

This is one of my favorite photos of her.  She was in her early 20s?  and Olan Mills came to town.

How cool is this retro look?  This was taken at city park in New Orleans.  The year was 1970, two years before I was born, so she would have been 36.

And my Dad has a matching pose from the same day:

I took this one.  I think it was her birthday?  So July, 1980 something.

My Mom and her sisters.  Mom is the one on the right.  Early 1940s.

And here are a few favorites of me and my Mom.

It doesn't seem like she has been gone almost 12 years.

Wishing all the Moms out there a Happy Mother's Day weekend!!

  1. Lovely memories of your beautiful mom.
Hugs and wishes for a Happy Mother's Day to you.

  2. These were all sweet pictures! Your mom was beautiful! The two of you together are gorgeous on your wedding day! Thanks for sharing them! It's sad she died when your kids were still small. Do they have any memories of her? Happy Mother's Day!!!

    1. I know. My Mom wanted grandkids so badly and then she had such a short time with them. Valerie was 3, so she has a few memories of sleeping over, eating ice cream, and a few other small things. Veronica was only 17 months old, so she has no memories of having a grandmother at all. :(

  3. What a beautiful mom you were blessed with. So sorry that you lost her so young; such a shame for your girls. I hope you had a nice mother's day. XO

  4. Such precious memories! Your mom was beautiful!

  5. What beautiful pictures and memories of your mom. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day Mellie!

  6. These photos are treasures of your Mom. I love the old pictures and often wonder about the story behind them. Your Mother was lovely. I especially liked the black and white and the one with her sisters. I hope you had a nice Mother's Day Mellie.
