Happy New Year!!!

Here’s to better times ahead for us all! Wishing everyone a happy, safe and healthy 2021.

We had a quiet New Year's Eve at home.  The severe weather they predicted never happened and all we got was a little rain.  We were invited to a couple of NYE parties (yes, people still had parties) but we stayed home.  I fried some shrimp and chicken tenders for the kids.  We had a sandwich tray,  crackers & cheese,  and chips & dip.  We bought a little bit of fireworks to pop ourselves, but the people all around us put on quite a show.  At midnight we were surrounded by fireworks in every direction!

Today for New Year's dinner I made a pork roast in the Instantpot, smothered cabbage, black eye peas, and a chocolate pie for dessert.  The kids stayed up ALL NIGHT -  it's mid-afternoon and they both claim they never went to sleep.  They won't eat any of of my New Year's dinner (except for the pie,) so they are on their own!

Plans for 2021? Hmmmm.  I'd like to read more books.  It'd be nice to tackle some of the house projects such as cleaning out the garage and painting the foyer and living room.  Other than that, I really don't know.  New Year, same ole' me!

Today also marks the end of another Holidailies!  I missed a few days.  It seemed quieter this year with fewer commenters and visitors.

Now I shall return to my regular unscheduled blogging!!

  1. Happy New Year! Your New Year's Day dinner looked delicious!! I have yet to use my Instapot I bought on impulse November 2019 :) But maybe your meal will inspire me :)

I didn't make it to midnight. Went to sleep around 10:30. Hubby and Winslow stayed awake til then (mainly because of the fireworks). When they went back to the bedroom hubby said I was snoring and Winslow was barking at my side of the bed trying to wake me up (I slept through it all :)

I read a lot of books when I'm exercising on the treadmill 5 days a week for 40 minutes. I read them through e-books from my local library on my tablet.

Here's to a great new year ahead!
